Upfitter Switches

Is there any simple way to change the wiring on the upfitter switches on my 07 Super Duty? I would like to wire them so they will be hot all the time.

if you mean hot all the time even when the truck if off, i'd say go hunting in the fuse panel and just not mess with the switched. you can get a 2 way switch at walmart for a couple of bucks and set it in your dash easy enough. did that in my old ranger to get the cb hot all the time.

it is the green wire that runs to the sjb you have to cut and run to a constant on circuit also 2008 is the same color phttp://www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas/...l/upfitter.pdf

I know this has been covered before. Do some searching, I figured it out before for someone. There is a relay that can be removed and a jumper wire installed. If you can't find it, I will look it up at work tomorrow

If you want the switches hot ALL the time - even with the keys removed, open up the Central Junction Box (CJB) under the dash. Remove relay C258 which is the upfitter relay and turn it over and find the two terminals marked 30 and 87. Get two crimp on male slide terminals, attach to a three inch piece of #14 or #16 wire and insert the terminals into the slots for the above two terminals on the relay. Toss relay into bottom of tool box and you're done!

Upfitter Switches

Well I checked it out and it was very easy. However, the relay that controls the upfitter switches on my 07 is relay C-305. I jumped across the contacts and everything woked perfectly.

Again I want to thank-you for all your help.

I have to laugh at the guy who suggested buying a cheap-*** switch from Wal-Mart to screw into the dash of a new truck...kind of the reason to have upfitters isn't it??? Anyways, can this mod be made to only one of the switches and leave the others keyed?

Upfitter Switches

Check your owners manual, it should be the relay labeled Upfitter Switches. You can then pull the relay out and check to see if the Upfitter Switches work. If they don't work then you have the right relay. Look at the case of the rel;ay to see which pins are the switch contacts. Simple jump acriss those pins with a jumper wire.

It could be done but would not be worth the trouble. The switch bank would need to be opened and modified.
