cab change
<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">i am working on putting a cab on my dads 92 f-250 off of a 94 f-150. the trooper im talking with said that he would just inspect the new completed truck and change my old title to the new vin number which will also have a ks on it. thats cool, then he asked me if the motor and frame were all staying the same and i said yes and he asked if the motor was original and i said no, this is the third motor that has been in the truck and it is a factory replacement. he said that he would have to look into that and add that on the title. my question is why would that matter?

Used to be when folks built a kit car to get it titled you needed a bill of sale for the frame, motor, and body. I think it has something to do with folks chopping up stolen vehicles. So when you bring a vehicle in from out of state they look for information on the body, frame and motor. All that stuff has a reason I guess.
No big deal is it. Actually might even help to have it documented that it has a new engine in it.
As I said for some reason those three things are important. So when you told them you were changing the cab (body) he asked about the frame and the engine. And he's not making you do anything extra just going to make the paperwork (title) match the truck as close as it can be.

he told me we would have to have the title changed to note the engine change BEFORE we could do the cab exchange. this worried me. i need to get this done asap if possible. we are installing a balebed in about a month and i want the cab done beforehand
