I own a '94 Eddie Bauer edition which has a crack in the dashboard. The part which is cracked seems like it's replacable, however, I don't have the faintest idea as to what this piece is called or where to get one.
Imagine, if you will, sitting in the passenger seat of a '92 - '96. If you lean all the way forward (slowly!) your head will hit a pad, of sorts, on the dash. This is the part that has a crack in it. It this part replacable, or do I have to find a vinyl expert to deal with it?
It's not one of the trim pieces. It's the same color as the interior and the rest of the dash (in this case, tan/beige). Any ideas?
That piece is easily removed by taking the glove compartment out. You will find those stamped steel "speed nuts" holding that affixed to the dash. Whether or not you can buy another, that I don't know, but when you have it out, you may want to try to just recover it with vinyl. I have never done this myself and don't know if it will even be an option, I had mine out for something else, but there are no cracks in it and I don't remember what it looks like on the bottom.
Oh, and you might have to take the radio out to get to the nuts toward the left side now that I am thinking of it.
