Stabilizer bar links???
I'm hearing and feeling a clunk in the front end. It is minor but I can feel it when turning. I checked the links and they are loose. I rechecked the torque and they were at 20 ft lbs like the Haynes manual recommends. I then realized that they are tight but only because the nut had reached the end of the threads. In other words there isn't enough threads to compress the bushings. I then installed a few washers to allow me to tighten it up more to compress the bushings. That seems to have worked. I torqued them again to 20ft lbs but I could have gone tighter. Which I assume means the bushing are now being properly compressed. I hope this fixes the clunking problem.
I guess my question is who makes a good stabilizer link kit for my truck? I am interested in the links as well as the bushing that attach to the frame.
I have a 1999 F-150 SC 4x4 with the off road package. The ones I currently have installed came with the tie rod and ball joint package I bought on ebay. I believe they are all Moog parts but I'm not positive. They didn't have a name brand on them but the part numbers matched Moog parts on rockauto.com.
