4.6 engine "shudder"
I have a question regarding my 06 E-250 with the 4.6...I've had this van for about a year now and have put about 25,000 miles on it. Since new ive had a couple problems, but one keeps coming back. The check engine light starts flashing, then the van loses all power and starts shuddering, almost to the point of stalling. This can happen at any speed, at idle, on the highway, etc. I've taken it to the dealer and they tell me that the code reads "max speed". Sorry, i dont know the exact code number. Essentially what they tell me is that every time i hit the 89 mph speed limiter, it sets a code and is causing the motor to think its at max speed, even when its not, and therefore causing the loss of power. Anyone ever hear of this? I run 4 Ford vans at work and I drive an F-250...I can definately tell you that I've reached the speed limiter in all of them! This particular van is the only 4.6(the other three are 5.4's) and is really getting to be a pain! Thanks

Im going to take it to a different dealer and have them check both of those. This particular dealer just keeps telling me that i cant go that fast and as long as i do, this will keep happening. Thanks guys.
