302 engine decode - need help.
Hy guys,
My 65 F100 came with a 302 2V in it (not stock). I'm having a tough time finding the block ID numbers. Looked in the front right corner above the oil pan (as suggested at the parts store) and didn't see anything. Am I looking in the right area ?
I found one number cast into the intake manifold up front.
D80E-9425-AA ( the 8 might be a 3, not sure). Does this number give an indication as to the block vintage ?

They used that intake up to '82, that is the intake my '82 LTD has and it has the original engine (for now).
The block part number is near the starter, if I remember right... I may be thinking of a Lima big-block. It hard to see, but easy with the starter removed.
Could be a T-Bird, Fairmont, Granada, LTD. You're looking at about 130 horses in stock form.

What you're probably looking for is the block casting number, which is located on the passenger side of the block, up above the starter. It's usually tough to see with the starter in place, you may need to pull it to see the number clearly. It will be something like what you listed above with the second group of digits being 6015 which is the part number for a block. There should also be a date code, 3 or 4 small digits near the casting number.
