Newbie questions.
First post here. Great site. I've only been here a week and my truck is already different/better. Three quick questions.
What's an FPR, why do you shim it and how?
What's the 10k mod?
I've seen both of those listed in signatures but can't find anything about them by searching the forums.
Finally, I can't figure out how to add my own signature. The FAQ's say it's under "Edit Profile" I don't see it.
I'll have more questions soon.

FPR= Fuel pressure regulator. Here's how:

10k mod is a 10k ohm resistor added to the wiring that tricks the PCM in adding more boost/fuel and advances the injector timing. Search this forum for 10k mod
Click 'User CP' top left of this page.
Click 'edit signature' left side of page again.
Do your thing
Click 'Save signature'

Thanks for the info. Searching here isn't working for me anymore. I get told that neither 10k nor FPR exhist on this site.
Tried again to find the signature link and finally found the fine print that says you have to pay for that privelage. Is the search feature part of the membership package too?

You should have a basic search engine at your disposal, but the enhanced forum search feature is one of the supporter perks....one of many
To me it's worth $15 just to be able to surf the site without all the ads.

I hear ya about the ad scott. my perks ran out last week and after seeing all the ad's and fast speed it instantly reminded me to re-up. I went for th 3 years this time!
10bands welcome to the site. Jim got you squared away on 2 out of 3 so here are a few links for the 10k mod and lots of other info. Read and memorize them. Okay well atleast read and save the links!

$15 is certainly worth it. I've already saved $150+ by doing the 6637 intake that I learned about here. Who knows what the general info I've gathered in the last week is worth?
But before I jump in, can anybody tell me if the members search engine currently working?

Yep, it's woking now. I noticed it wasn't working yesterday, but was OK later in the day. It gets plugged-up due to high traffic (I guess). Become a supporter, especially if you are on a dial-up connection, Speedy.
