Do not use water, instead use WD 40. It will get the grime off and you do not need to rinse. This was told to me by my Ford service tech. I used it and it worked great.

Ok bear, so how much did all those accessories cost. I'm looking at what's left on my CC's so I can make my truck look better and find something like her to pose on it. Or in it. Thank God my wife don't know how to use the internet. ROFLMAO

WD-40 on the engine?? Wouldn't that burn off pretty nasty?
I did a wash once with some "Engine Cleaner" - shortly thereafter starting having problems with turbo boost. When I finally got around to checking/pulling/replacing the EBP sensor, found the contacts were corroded. As this sensor contacts are facing upwards, it appears the chemical can seep into the connection fitting and wreak havoc.
