i just bought a '99 250 supercab and the door ajar light is always on. the doors close tight and latch, but the truck doesn't think that they are. the previous owner took the dome and the cargo light bulbs out, i guess to stop it from killing the batteries.
but the dinging when the key is in and the doors are open happens when the doors are closed also.
With the dome and cargo lights out i don't thinks its dooing any damage. but i would like the door ajar light to go out.
Is there a way to ajust the light button on the door or somthing.
as Amiller pointed out , just do a little reading, and to help you out, just spray some WD40 in your door latches , inside the lach assy, and shut the door few times ,
that should take care of it,
I have intermident problems with the door ajar light on my '99 F250. The problem seems more prevalent in the cold weather. When the door ajar light stays on (doors shut and latched), the dome light and cargo light come on when I slow to a stop. The lights stay on as long as I am stopped and go out seconds after accelerating.
Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?
I squirted the door latches with WD40 as suggested but have not driven the truck since.
its still a problem with your locks, check both sides, and make sure they both work, maybe your passenger side its bad ? make sure ou get with the little straw inside those actuators, it took me few tries to get it working, you have to hit the sweet spot,,or take the door panel off and check you wires if they are not coroded or somthing,
