door ajar light

door ajar light stays on.lights were staying on untill they timed off but after two days they have returned to normal operation.anybody tell me where the switch is located on the door frame,i cant seem to find it.thank you.02 ex psd.

Spray the drivers door latch (in the door, not the post) with WD-40 and slam the door a couple of times. That will free up the switch and cure it 99% of the time.

I also noticed last year when I fixed this problem on my 99' 250. now my new 02 350 dually is doing the same thing, it needed something else so I put a little piece of electrical tape over the door latch bar on the body of the truck it was worn off to the metal grounding out the door light switch and turning it on, hope it helps love this site.

I know this is an old thread but I have tried ALL the EASY fixes ,still have the problem! Is there a way to detect which switch or switches,may be the problem?My truck,new to me,is a 2002,built in 11-01,F350,CC,Lariat.I do not have keyless locks or an alarm,if that matters. ROY.
