Its Plain and Simple I don't think yours or any other Tuner/Chip will do it. I'm willing to spend my money to prove it!!
I'll pay $1,000.00 cash for anyones DP Tuner/Chip (or any other companys Chip/Tuner) that can increase my Fuel economy by 2 MPG!! It will be easy to test this out!!
A 2 MPG increase would save me about $1,100 a year in Fuel Cost on my 01 alone. There is nothing more I would want more then for it to gain me 2 MPG!!

first off i know the right chip will improve milage. more power being made w/ the same amount of fuel will increase milage.(short of it anyways). i also know that my driving style will have a lot to do w/ it. currently i have a 12v dodge i know all about driving hard and easy and the difference it makes. it looks to me like the dp chip will be the one to get. anyone have a good site for this chip.
I guess my #16 was too short, since #17 & #18 seemed to have missed it, and their debate continues. Let me try again with a little longer post this time.
CHIPS CAN DEFINITELY INCREASE MPG, READ ON TO SEE WHY!
All the newer (from 1999 on) OEM tuning for meeting emissions reduces efficiency, and mpg. That's why a chip can increase mpg, it un-does a lot of the inefficient OEM emissions tuning. A chip can tune for HP and efficiency, but at the expense of emissions. That's why when they're sold in CA, they're advertised as being for off road use only. I know, some chip sellers advertise that they've applied for CARB approval, thereby implying that their chip might meet CA emissions, but I've never seen one advertised as having actually gotten the CARB approval!
they way i know to increase milage w/ power is to advanced the timing. it wont meet emmissions but it will improve milage. also i belive duration will do it to. the end result is trying to make the motor as effecient as possible.
another theory is if you increase the power you spend less time and energy getting to speed and more time crusing thereby increasing mileage. this theory is however a very fine line.
As far as our return policy goes, 30 days is ample time to obtain your data.

Keep your return policy. I'm holding on to my DP-Tuner flashed PCM. You'll get it when you pry it out of my cold dead hands or someday when I get Jody to do a live run update. The BTS VB (and BTS trans since the 01 diode locked up and took the trans with it) and your 60HP Tow tune are the best mods I have made to the truck yet. I have driven in a Superchips truck and I don't like it as much. Those are one size fits all approach. Good in a pinch but if I can get a more custom tune, so much the better.
