Power Chips

I've had a lot of people tell me I should add a chip to my 2012 F-350 diesel... I would really like to get better fuel milage especially when towing... I don't want to do any engine modifications at all but does anyone suggest some kind of chip that is plug and play and o e that works? Thanks, Tom

Not chips anymore - they are all programmers/tuners these days. Most will not add significant mileage gains as they are designed for increasing HP and torque. I actually lost a mile per gallon when I tuned my truck with an H&S but more likely due to having my foot in it a little more on the performance setting. The higher horsepower and torque definitely helps when towing, but not any significant mpg increases. Unless you plan on making more modifications like DPF delete, EGR delete, new intake, etc. you won't find a lot of mileage increase on the 6.7L - its already much better fuel mileage than the previous 6.4's considering all of the emissions crap these have on them.

Little harder then just adding a chip. Mine is tuned and fully deleted, quite a few hours of modifying the truck to get to this stage and I gained around 3 mpg.
