i find that i can only find 2wd hedman headers in canada, no parts places have 4wd and summit and jegs wont send exhaust parts to canada, i was just wondering if 2wd headers will fit my 4wd 77 f150 or what, thx
does it come close to anything cuz they told me that its gonna hit the front axle if i put it on , but that doenst make sence because with 4wd i have more room so.
yeah. 79 had the straight front axle. 80 on till 96 had the TTB front axle. it will fit the 80 on up, i don't know about before 80, i haven't tried them. mine fit fine, but i had to take off the starter to initially put them on. i'm planning on a high torque mini starter sometime in the future, but the old startre still fits fine. just ignore the 2wd part. i've written hedman about this in the past, with no luck.
I have them on my '69 4x and I also have to remove the starter to get them on. The frame on the '69 is boxed and therefore the headers don't fit on it. I argued with the guy from Summit Racing for about 20 min before I ordered them anyways. Then when I got them I spent about 10 hrs trying to get them to fit. I finally realized that the salesman from Summit was probably correct and they wouldn't fit. So I notched the boxed section the frame to allow on section of tube to sit in the frame channel. Works fine, been driving it daily since '97 that way. Did I mention that I really enjoy this engine?
right ton, so all i have to do is notch and box the frame to fit a headman on my truck, cuz i really dont wanna spring for the hooker headers that are over 500 bucks
