Had my truck in the dealership for the exhaust sensor recall and the side window TSB. They called and said they did the degas bottle too. I said great. Wasn't too worried about that one... I popped the hood when I got home and the schmuck hand wrote in magic marker the new fill line and Max Fill. If it weren't my truck I'd have to laugh. Am I just being too irritable or would you guys get irritated at that too? Come on, I could have hand wrote it, but I didn't want to on my $43k truck... What a hacker in my opinion.
Otherwise, the exhaust sensor recall has no noticeable affect, which I think is a good thing...

Hah... that's funny. There is a sticker that dealers are supposed to put on the degas bottle with a new max fill line on it. I'd just wash the marker off if I were you, and just don't fill the bottle above the MIN mark.

sgthawkusmc...sorry for the kind of off subject post, but my truck is going in on Monday for the Side Window TSB, and I was just curious how long it took them to do it? It is going in at about 8 AM on Monday, and I am hoping I can get it back the same day as I am going on a trip on Tuesday. Thanks!
Canadaguy, That's probably what I'll do if it will come off. They're supposed to be doing the badges on Friday, but not just no, hell no. They won't be touching my truck after that one. That just means they have zero attention to detail. What other corners will they cut?
No problem nut. I dropped the truck off this morning at 8:00 and they had everything done by 4:00 or so. It doesn't pay more than 1 1/2 hrs or so for both windows if I remember right.
Ford has serious service issues at some of their dealerships.
Sometimes it's asking to much for a service technician to say, "Hey, we're out of the stickers for the Degas bottle. We'll call you when they come in and put it on there".
Instead you got, "Dewd, just like mark it on the bottle thing with my black marker, it's like the same anyways, and customers don't like really look at that stuff!". (Think Spicoli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High)
Definitely not a place you want to risk your truck with again sgthawk!

Do you think that Tech shared his pizza with the entire class? ROFLMAO
Well Kepler, I have to take the side of the service department on this one, and lay the issue on Ford... we ran out of stickers, and believe it or not, they will send us 1 (one, uno, un...) per VIN. When 05B32 first came out, we were getting them by the sheet, but now it's nothing but a pain in the a$$.
CG, I certainly did not mean to disparage you or any Technicians on FTE. I apologize for offending anyone.
They should have told sgthawk about the sticker issue and given him an option, IMO. Personally, I think the sticker is unnecessary since I can just fill to the 'Min' line and be done with it. The sticker is probably a good reminder for those 6.0 PSD owners who don't hug their Super Duty every day though.
I don't doubt it's a pain to get the sticker, but like Kepler said they should have given me a call and said "do you want us to use a marker and hand write it on there." I'd have said "hell no." I'd lay the blame on Ford and not the tech, but I just can't do it. I didn't ask for this one to get done... They just decided to do the recall themselves. This is why I never bring my truck to a mech. I do everything possible myself. No one cares about your truck etc as much as you do...
