Exclamation Engine Oil Priming

Engine Is Done,i Went To Prime The Engine With Oil.the Engine Has New Oil Pump(stock).15/40 Rotella Oil.it Was Around 50 Degrees Out In The Garage.useing A Drill And The Pump Drive Tool I Started Primeing,counterclockwise.it Was A Cheap Drill And Would Not Spin The Pump After About 5 Seconds.do I Need A Beefy Drill Or Do I Have A Problem With The Pump.i Spun The Pump By Hand Before I Installed It.does It Take Alot Of Power To Spin The Pumps?thanks For Any Help.

i tried the drill motor in summer and it struggled. i use a speed handle with a 1/4" adapter and a 5/16" socket on it. crank for a while till you get some opil on some rockers, then turn the crank 90* and crank some more. repeat until you have good oil supply to EVERY rocker and she's ready.

It takes more power than a wee 1/4 or 3/8 or battery drill can muster to turn the pump. A big 1/2 inch 500RPM drill will work tho.
