My 2000 f150 v6 5sp manual was hesitating (or chugging) when I would idol or put on the gas. I replaced the air filter and it got better. I replaced the spark plugs the same week and it got close to normal but has steadily deteriorated over the last month back to the original condition or worse. It hesitates in low gears and when I put on the gas but is not as noticeable at higher speeds.
hi, search the 4,2 forum and you will probably see spark plug wires are critical and new ones may make all the diference. i used BrianA s advice on the make/type but cannot remember which they were. good luck bokker.
I have a 2000 F150 4.2 auto which is doing the same thing, we have replaced the wires, plugs, power module and upper and lower pickups. Did you check spark as you give it fuel becauce mine drops off for a milasecond then comes back as it reaches a higher speed. I'm at a loss on this one. need help
