then would i need new tires just yet or should i leave on my bald ones so there will be more rubber contact to the road and save the new tires the extra wear?
Tijuana Slick. Yes the less tread the more traction. 18 or 20 pounds of air. A 200 pound tail gate and a 300 pound lead filled rear bumper. Just hold yer bakes on.
Let him spin out. Ease yer clutch out till she drags. And just a little throttle and Flip yer micro brake lock of and pull away. Just enough ta pull but not brake yer tires lose. AHRRRR ARHHH One dead Chev. I do so want ta see the Video. Make sure your rear brakes are in top shape and adjusted even a little tight.
k....i dont have the tailgate anymore but i think i can put 2 big tractor wheel weights (ther like 350 lbs. a piece!) in the bed against the board i have in the box to stop stuff from sliding out.......i'll just through my spare tire and stuff like that over the top of them and he'll never know the diff.

Ya that should be enough.
Any decent parts store should be able to set you up with a 4 wheel hydraulic brake lock system. I haven't seen them in years but we would get them at Napa and the kit would lock up all 4 wheel with the flick of a switch and a pump on the brake. This was explained earlier in this tread.
hey i noticed something the other day...i was locking out my hubs (warn) and i found that one was loose and i couldnt get it to tighten down any more...when the shop replaced the knuckles in the front end they had to heat the hubs to get the screws out for the hub locks...could this have damaged the threads?
yes, but more likely, its a bad screw. check the screw, if memory serves me, they are very soft, almost aluminum, pull the screw, and try a good one in the same hole, if its still bad, then its the hole, most likely, the screw is stripped, not the hole
it could also be that the lock ring for the internal part of the hub is displaced. its doubtful that the hub itself is bad (the heavy iron part), but more likely that either the internal pieces, or the screw is bad.
hey guys i think this next weekend i might be gettin out the chain....all this kid in the z71 has done is rev his engine like he is guna blow it up every time he sees me this weekend lol so i think i have his attention.......i just plan on doin a tune-up (plugs wires cap and rotor and oil change) and throwin in my weights and check on some other stuff....i will try to get it on video......any other suggestion?
suggestions? hmmm.... if he keeps revving a cheb, eventually, it will blow up... not nearly as much fun for you though. weights, hidden braking, and an even start should get you the day. post how it goes
I saw a smart a$$ kid grenade the front diff in his Z71 trying to pull some body out of a mud pit. Hmm do you think 38s are a bit much for a 1/2 ton IFS front end with CV axleshafts? Win or lose? It depends on what he has under the hood too, if he has a 5.7 he will have the advantage, if he has 5.0 you should be able to pull him. I beat the crap out of an 85 Chevy 4wd 4 spd that had a 305, what a pig those worthless motors are!
Sorry to say this but you will loose to the Z71. Just accept it man, but either way good luck and video tape it.
not necessarily so... they're a good truck, but some fancy numbers on the side of the bed doesn't mean the driver knows how to drive, or that the truck really lives up to the hype. even if its got a great driver, the truck may be damaged, lose traction, or just plain malfunction. load up with the weight, and pull...
