Transfer case removal
OK. So I need to remove and replace the tranfer case on my 90 EB. Got under it. I went ahead and disconnected the driveshafts, electical connections, etc. There is an app. 6" long bar in the linkage to the selector that is held in place by a couple of plastic fittings. Looking on the pin on the new transfer case, it appears that there is some kind of internal snap ring that closes on a groove on the connecting pins. There is no evident way to remove the plastic fittings. Is anyone familiar with this? Do I just grind them off and replace them? Special tool? I tried prying them a bit but did not want to bend things. Any suggestions?:-(
