Have you checked the possibility that your clutch's air gap may be worn too wide? There's a whole thread on fixing that, and it sure is a cheap fix if that what it turns out to be.
I took it to a local AC shop and he jumped a wire on the low pressure switch and got it to work for a minute or so, the it quit. We tried a couple of other quick fixes but no luck. I will bring it in on Monday for a full run down. I will leet you know what the diagnosis is... Thanks for all your help so far.
Well, I took it in to get diagnosed. It turns out that there were a couple of things wrong. First was one of the relays near the brake fluid reservoir and the "new" low pressure switch ended up being defective. Once the relay was replaced, he jumped the low pressure plug with a paper clip and the AC worked fine. I have a replacement low pressure switch coming under warranty.
I've said it before, but there are just too many variables to troubleshoot over a forum for AC problems with the symptom being won't cool/cycles. There's just too much to look for. Once you get it narrowed down with a few simple checks (like you did), it's a lot easier figure out what's going on.
Sounds like low charge to me also. Cycling on low pressure control. My van does this when it gets low. Havnt found leak yet but I add a shot of 134 and its good to go for another 6 weeks.
