The 4 speakers in my '05 dont sound too bad, but wouldnt mind a little more thump. (For my country music and old rock). What have you guys done to get a bass enclosure or box into your cabs?
well, first off it depends on what cab you have....if you have a regular cab you can make a box to fit behind your seat....if you have a super cab i think you could make a box to fit under the rear seat....and if you have a super crew i think you could make something to fit behind the two rear seats...now i'm not sure about the super crew and space behind seats in the back but you could prolly do it....the biggest thing with a box is that you have enought volume inside the box for the sub to work properly...
i'd look up subs and the volume they need then start looking around your truck and find somewhere that you can put it....it does matter where because bass isn't directional so you can have it anywhere
comes the box, sub, amp, and amp wiring kit. The amp has speaker level inputs so can still use the factory radio.
That is the same setup I have for my supercrew but I bought my stuff seperately, and I used all MTX products. and I got my 10" sub box from www.supercrewsound.com
That's all you need to add just a little more thump. I put my amp under the front passenger seat.
We have boxes for all cab styles and as a FTE member you can use coupon code FTE for 10% off the products you purchase. We can also do a package deal for you with subs and amp.
I'd go with supercrew sound all the way!! I got a box from them and it matched my interior. I'm running 2 Rockford Fosgate 10" subs everything elsr is stock
I got a 8" bazooka tube and it sounds like a 300 watt subwoofer. It is self amped and can fit directly underneath the rear seat. I have a supercab as well and this sounds great along with my pioneer 3 way speakers mated with my panasonic double din head unit. Good luck
I got a used factory sub that mounts under the rear driver side seat. I liked my MTX setup with the dual drivers better, but this was a cheap alternative for me. I dont need teenager performance anyway.. LOL
If anyone does get a factory sub just use a 5 volt enable source so you wont get that blasted groan and thump at startup.
