1997 ford F250LD .Had it checked by a local shop. They told me it was the brake controller. The ABS do not work at all. Found out the hard way. I was given a oddly high price to have it fixed. How much are these controllers. Would a junk yard be worth a shot? Any help would be appreciated....Thanks, Todd
Personally I would try a used one for sure. Make sure you get one that has not been disconnected/removed for a while. If you went to buy a new one you'd think you were buying another truck!

Mine is on too, I'm still convinced that the cruise control fix did something to the abs system. If I start my truck with my foot on the break the light will cycle but then go out. As soon as I let up the light goes on.

It's quite impossible that the cruise recall in any way affected the ABS system. Look elsewhere.
The ABS POST diagnostic does not finish until the brake pedal is released. You still have an ABS fault. Pull the ABS codes to see what it's complaining about.
Do you have a wiring diagram to substaciate your coment. The cruse wire that they replaced connects to a pressure switch on the brake master.
If you had a basic understanding of the purpose of the switch and the harness installed, you would know the answer to that comment.
This subject was covered in very great detail by myself and others in the period leading up to and including the issuance of the recall. You should be able to locate those posts with the assistance of the SEARCH feature. I'm not inclined to repeat myself.
