I can't see where the alt would have anything to do with the subs. Before you do anything else, play with the dials on your radio and make sure you (or someone else) didn't turn it down or off. Then check your fuses.
checked all settings and fuses, put 12 volts to amp remote terminal and stilll no amp. used another cars output from their amp to my sub and it works. still not sure if it's my amp or my radio not sending signal to amp to come on, how do i check the remote wire from the radio, should it have 12 volts, when i check the wires to the amp 1 is hot all the time 1 is ground all the time 3 others have no current to them at any time shouldn't the remote wire have 12 volts to give the signal for the amp to come on?
Yes, one constant, one switched, on ground, and two signal.
So you know your sub works, but the fault still lies in either your amp or radio. I would think your radio is fracked, but just to be sure, try adding a jumper from the switched power to the radio to the amp remote. This way, even if the radio has lost the ability to turn the amp, it will turn on with the radio.
