How high are you talking? The clutch is the weak link in the system. Get a clutch to handle what you want, and the tranny will probably take whatever you put through it.
As mentioned above, get a new clutch. I don't think you can get the 7.3 anywhere close to even worry about. New SB CON FE is rated for 550 hp. And to get to 550 hp with or without drugs is gonna cost a fortune. If you bought the 6 spd, you did right the first time. No worries.
Looks like you beat me to it. Still good for that.
But will the cummins bolt up to the ZF6Spd is the question. From what ive seen, they are totally different bolt patterns. Dodge does have manual tranies for the Cummins...
Duhh huhhh....haha, yeah ive got all that takin care of, adapters and such, im just wanted to know how much a stock ZF6 tranny can hold... and if it aint much where can i find a high performance ZF6 ?
Well, just don't run it in Overdrive. Kwikkordead knows all about that...
Kevin Barr (mech2161) is running over 500hp and well over 1000lbs of torque through his tranny, and he can bend the frame in an arch and damn near lift the LF wheel.
Dunno if anyone even rebuilds the ZF6 for performance applications. The only problem ive heard of in the ZF6 is if you manuver in 6th(OD) at low RPM you will destroy that gear. Never heard of anyone breaking any of the shafts or gears. Maybe someone else can chime in and help you. >.<
I've read that at those power levels you're best approach is converting to an auto... I have never heard of any sort of upgrade for the six speed manual.

It ended up being a bad pilot bearing that killed the transmission. (I hope).
