not many going to trade manual for a zf.
You'll have to bite the bullet and get a zf and stick it in there and get your PCM reflashed for it.

James got the most kick *** lope with his from his swap. haha.

zf6 is more hastle than its worth though. I had that idea at one point as well.

yeah. You get 2 low gears instead of 1.

haha.

I drove a zf6 with a full wagon of corn, still didn't need 1st or low. I just used 1st to go around the elevator.

to be honest the zf6 is not worth the hassle like said above, you have to mod the floor pan to fit the taller bell housing and the gear ratios are near the exact same, so you dont gain anything just that one useless granny gear. just buy a zf5 and slam that it, direct fit.
actually, the gear ratio for a manual is lower so youll loose a few mph and gain rpms, an auto will blow away my zf in the rpm game all day long with the same gearing and tires.

The zf6 is about the same on the e4od for the final overdrive.
but yes, the ZF5 is slightly shorter.
its like .04 difference, not much.

cant be, people who have swapped from the zf5 to the zf6 did not notice a single difference in the OD, maybe a single mph. the difference between auto and manual is pretty large.

its like a 200-300 rpm difference between the e4od and zf5 from what i've noticed.

from the e4od to the zf5 yes, its a good difference, my 60mph at 2100rpm with 410s and 235s is my buddies 70mph at roughly the same rpm

I've been big time on the fence about doing a ZF-5 swap in my rig. I too miss having a hand shaker, but I don't want to gain rpm/lose mpg when cruising since I do a fair bit of highway driving. But a built auto just costs so stinkin' much... What would be perfect is to find a Gear Vendor unit in a wrecking yard and put that behind the ZF-5.

Good luck with that. I think you'd have better luck finding a high-low rear.
