EBPV Clip

Help, I am trying to find a source for the clip that slides over the pivot arm for the EBPV. The only place i have found it is in the pedistal rebuild kit from ford.

I MUST leave monday morning 9am where can i get one of these clips.

Are you towing? Did you know, that if you do not have the EBPV wired to be used as an exhaust brake, then it is not necessary for the engine's operation. I deleted my EBPV, and i just have that connector wrapped up in tape. I know i cannot get this to you by monday, but if you want it, i can surely ship it out to you. Until then, just push the plug in the connector, and hope for the best. If it does happen to fall out, it will not cause a problem.

I live in michigan so i like the functionality of the ebpv. and when it does fall out then the valve starts to flutter and there goes my boost and egts.

I recall a post on this site where someone mentioned a substitute for that clip. I believe they got it at Autozone (or some other car parts gig). Maybe do a search like "+clip +lost +turbo" or something. If I see it I'll post again.

good luck...

I found that earlier but that is for the wastegate rod. It may work though. I am going to try it let you guys know how it worked.

Also i have a ballbearing turbo, Is a banks big head necessary or is the one that comes with this turbo acceptable? Or should i just BB it?

If the plug is disconnected, the EBPV will default to the open position. Try it.

The acuator rod was not connected to the ebpv. that was the clip i was missing. So it didn't matter what the actuator was telling it i.e. stay closed because i'm unpluged. the valve was fluttering in the opening because it's arm was not hooked to the rod. I replaced this clip with an e clip i'm hoping that will work.

Oooh, sorry my mistake there. I thought you were talking about the hinging metal clip, that kept the electrical connector in it's place in the front of the pedestal.

Are you sure it didn't fall in the valley, or down the drain hole at the back of the block, and go down beside the torque converter, and end up on the inspection plate with the weep hole? There isn't much of a place that the clip can go. Highly unlikely that it went springing out of the engine bay.

Unfortunately one of the prongs broke off so it would vibrate back towords the pedistal after a couple cycles of the valve.
