gpr=glow plut relay, it's the relay that sends power to the glow plugs. It is on the passenger side right behind the fuel bowl. There are two relays there and it is the one closest to the windshield.
If your glowplugs are operating and it is cold enough for them to activate you could cause SEVERE DAMAGE to your engine if you feel you need to use ether disconect the power to the gpr.
Agreed, while you are in FL, that ether in the IC under presure from the turbo is bad news should it ignite. Of course there will be no boost while cranking but if an ignition occurs due to whatever, big problem. You can spray WD40 into the y-manifold while cranking. The turbo is not needed as there is no boost during cranking and idling. There is also no MAF so no worries until you try to get underway. I would even try jumping the GPR prior to spraying WD IOT see if it will hit. After that it may come along with the fuel system after a few of those. If not, other problems.
BTW, many an O-ring is destroyed upon removal of a fitting. The best way to find a leak is a thorough cleaning and isolating the leak.
so I could have already busted more stuff and not know it.
Man this one is really gonna cost me.
BTW What and where is the GPR?
The GPR is on the passenger side of the engine under the plastic cover there are two relays the closest to the firewall is the gpr. I know someone asked you about oil when you added 2.5 gals did you just dump it all in the valvecover or did you actually top of the hpop?
The gold nut on the end holds the solenoid to the IPR if it is loose or missing no high pressure oil is available (center of pic). it is easy to knock loose it is only torqued to 53 in/lbs
I would crank in no longer than 25 seconds, I used a watch. I've probably crank the moter over about 15 or 20 times I only used the ether 2 or 3 times because it seemed to last awhile.
The oil was all over the block in-between the heads and seemed to be coming from under the HPOP where that plug was.
The o-ring was blown out the side of the plug when I pull the HPOP off.
I can turn over the engine and get oil pressure and I degreased the enigine and see no new oil. It is the brass plug right by the outlets for the lines going to the heads.
The plug on the bottom of the HPOP not the lines, but it seems to be near the lines like maybe a drain or a test point for the oil pressure hitting the injectors.
