SD Flasher relay
I do think it is a bit louder than stock... I can't really remember what stock sounded like, but I seem to recall thinking that the new one seemed louder at the time I first installed it.
It's plenty loud enough for me to hear. I think you should give it a shot. Here are a few details I posted a while back on swapping the relay:
To access it, reach up and in through the sorta gap between the black floor heater duct and the rest of the dash, from the driver side. Reach in there and you'll feel a little lid that you have to press on the sides to remove. Then, the taller relay is the one to replace... pull it out, plug the new one in the same way, and replace the little lid.
Helps to have the hazard lights going so you can hear/feel the relay clicking until you get your hands on it. Also, try and maintain its orientation as you pull it out, so you can reach the new one in lined up the same way, and won't have to fiddle with lining it up to plug it in.
Might help if you remove the black duct if your arms are too big to reach in there... I think there are just a couple screws holding it in place.
loud clicking, one module will last you a LIFE time!!!! any vehicle, any where. the toughest and original!!! available from almost anywhere! 2 VERSIONS AVAILABLE, COMPACT and the LARGE SIZE. i recommend the large size ( if you have the room in fuze area ) , glass/plastic encased for heat venting, but well worth the 7 bucks... I am on the same module, for almost 25 years!!! got 2 extra for back-up. several boats rvs later nad...... i might add, taxis !!!!!! later... same flasher-relay-module.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i bought my first taxi, a 75 plymoth grand fury in 74, and still have the original tridon replacement that i used in that unit. several vehicles later, not to mention decades... same module...and it works GREAT!!!!first thing we do to any new truck.. is swap out the flasher modules when we put these rigs into sevice...from rv hauling to deck haulers... ford/dodge/gm... and now toyota... add the goodies, flashers included.... nuff said!
