F53 brake light and hazard flashers failure

Hello all, just finished a trip in my 99 F53 Motor Home. Had some trailer wiring to update (new plug) and in the process of testing the lights on the tow I discovered I have no brake lights. Turn signals and running lights are all fine. No 4 way flashers either.

The multi function seems to be working, when I try to engage the flashers it DOES override the turn signals as it is supposed to. My understanding is that the turn signals and the hazard signals use the same flasher relay, correct?

I believe my pedal mounted brake switch is working as it kicks the CC off with just a touch of my foot. I've read lots of posts but most deal with the loss of brake lights AND turn signals and is usually a multi function switch problem.

I read a post on another forum that someone had gotten info from Ford that there is a flasher relay as part of a fuse but I can't locate anything in my manual. DOes anyone know if there IS a separate flasher relay somewhere for the hazards only?
Thanks to all who can respond. Darwin

Check the pedal mounted switch. IIRC, the CC is kicked off by a brake pressure transducer, not the pedal mounted switch.

Thanks for the response. Not sure how to test the switch. If it is bad, how would that affect the hazard flashers? They worked prior to the brake lights failing. Thanks.

The speed control's primary disengagement signal comes from the brake position switch. The pressure switch on the master cylinder is a redundant safety interlock that removes power from the servo under moderate to heavy braking.

The BPP switch is a 2-pole switch. One is for position signalling (speed control, shift interlock, etc), the other half actually operates the brake lamp circuit.

My understanding is that the turn signals and the hazard signals use the same flasher relay, correct?
Yes, according to the EVTM.

It appears the F53 chassis was delivered from the factory to the coach builder with options for the stop and rear turn signals. It was then up to the coach builder to decide if they wanted to use the separate additional stop lamp or if they wanted a single lamp to be both functions. So, do you have separate stop lamps or only a single fixture on each side with the turn and stop functions using the same filament in the bulb?

The coach has 4 lenses on each side, rear. Upper inside is TS, upper and lower outside are running lamps. lower inside is BU lamp. Upper and lower outers are running lights only using side marker bulbs. The upper inner is on when running lights are on and also handles the brake/TS function.

I have a 96 with similar issues. I have no signals but at least brake lites. I believe it may be bad grounds. I cleaned and added frame ground to get brake lites. For flasher I think there is too much resistance to make the e-flasher to operate
Main problem is the side lights all are in series together on signals so my untested plan is to run wires to the back to get signal to front / rear
