supercharging a 302!!!!!
Has anyone installed a supercharger on there 302. I have a 95 EB with a 302 im looking to add some horse power to it. Need to know what kind of improvements you got and troubles you've incountered.Looking at those kits, it looks like the supercharger assembly replaces the entire upper manifold assembly. Does that sound right? If that's the case, wouldn't it be easy to use a GT-40 lower intake manifold and the lightning kit? Just a thought. The additional 40hp would be nice, but you would also need the computer from a mustang, and the throttle bodies, and any extra wiring.
I have been looking at those kits for a little while, but haven't scavanged the funds quite yet. Keep us posted when you install one.

With a 6psi kit, no major mods are needed. You get everything you need with the kit, and the Kenne Bell is a great kit. Makes boost from 2K on up wtih a load on it, perfect for our trucks. I'd do a compression/oil pressure test to see how good of shape your engine is in. #####.com has good prices. A bigger throttle body is also NOT NEEDED ugh I hate this guy.
I learned a lot about these kits, I almost bought one. With 6 psi you need 93 octane, you need the MSD, and other then that, the kit comes with everything you need. This setup isn't the best, but it'll give you 100 or so HP. If you wanted more than 6 psi, you'd have to step up to 9 psi, which would require fuel pumps, bigger injectors, and such. You can Private message me if you want to avoid FALSE INFORMATION from the MoabTamer idiot, ran into him one other time a few minutes ago about 2wd/4wd conversions that he was completely false on
.The fuel system is taken care of with a "boost-a-pump" which will help supply the extra fuel needed. You don't need to re-program the computer like most people think with the speed density system. You should put it on, see how it drives, should drive fine, and eventually get a chip thats programmed with all the mods you have. You should wait on the chip until all your air mods are done. 300 bucks or so for a chip.

Bite me,
I'm speaking from direct experience with two seperate SC installations. There are no absolutes, many approaches can be taken to solve problems. If you don't agree fine. But keep your pissy immature comments to yourself.
