Allright, on my $75 '95 ford Escort, the heater quit working....
When I got the car on thursday, it worked, only if u had the **** between two of the positions... Now, it doesnt blow any air, in any position. The radiant heat comming from the vents is warm, but nothing else happens. When I push the AC buttion, the AC controler lights up, but no air...
Any help would be greatly appreciated... My uncle's STRONGLY considering getting this car for my 16 y/o cousin who'll be getting her lisance soon, provided everything required for driving works
sounds like the fan switch but on my ranger there is a relay or transistor kind of thing that blows out. I only have high fan anything lower wont work its like a $15 part at ford its 2 bolts on on the box below the fan motor under the hood. I dont have my ford parked out front but if ya give me a day or so ill see if i can get you the part number and description
If they're the black and grey boxes on the passengers side firewall, then I found them, and they're loose. I jammed a paper clip in the connection between the box, and the metal tab... didnt do anything...
Cant find the blower motor... Am I that blind/dumb?
tks alot
the thing im talking about is a flat piece with two sets of wires going into it its greyisn plastic and held in by two small bolts like 4mm when you putll it out it looks like a bunch of wire spting diode kinda things like four of them/ i dont have a picture my truck is in NJ and im in NYC i cant get to it right now but hopefully i will tomorrow youll find the thing is bad if you pull it out and then you see breaks in these spring things
hey my 95 did/does the same thing try jiggling the wires on the passenger side near the door in front. and i bet you u it will come back on .. Mine did this for 2 years and STILL works to this day
I got the control arm in... Call me a NOOB, but it was a pita. I took it to work and had them toss it on the allignment rack... It's got slightly bent tie rods, but the ends are still good. There's enough adjustment left in them to safely put it in spec. All is well in that regard, just gotta come up with $45... Next friday I'll get it done, along with 2 new (used) tires...
STILL gotta fix the heater. The problem was with the connection to the blower... It was burnt up at one point, and some genius cobbled it... I fixed it by putting a "real" connector on it (VS just jamming a stripped wire up there)... Does NOT blow out the defrost, which is unsafe...
There's a cam on the passengers side of the center console, and it controls the vents. I move it in any direction, and it goes through the vents it should, except the defroster... I cannot "force" it to the defrost position. plz help, any ideas on that would be greatly appreciated
I've tried to remove it, but I cant... it looks like this
Far right is defrost, lever wont move past "floor"...
Dont know how to remove the switch. So far, I removed the bezel surrounding it, and unscrewed all the screws I could get at... The "face" comes off, but that really doesnt help me...
A '95 should still be cable controlled I believe. Is the radio above it? Pull the radio if it is and see if you can see some cables behind it, that'd probably be holding it in.
I'd be willing to guess something's up with the position cable keeping it from going past floor.
