05 mirror conversion

Just like to say feels good to be back on. Been gone for awhile. Have an 03 and been looking at the mirrors from an 05 or 06 that have the trun signal, heated mirror and the mirror extension and was wonder if anyone has done this before. Just wanted to know a good way to wire them up. Also was looking through Diesel Power and came across RPM Outlet and they have a package for the 7.3 to get either the K&N filter kit or AEM, Predator tuner with 3 tunesand a 4-inch Motoblue exhaust for $700. Does anyone have this packge?

Welcome Back!

Hey I dont know much about the Mirror conversion but if I were you I would not go with any K&N filter.......Beleave me once everybody see's that you are considering the K&N your post will be flooded with K&N haters . If you can go with AFE, AEM, AIS, or even the 6637 filter mod if you like to keep some extra cash. I have an MBRP 4" exhaust and I love it but I dont know how the Moto Blue exhaust sounds but i am sure its better than stock. I will leave the rest to the guys who are gonna tell you to stay away from K&N. Good luck!

I am also up-grading my 00 mirrors and adding Heat. I need to tap into a keyed on power wire. would like to get pointed in the right direction on which one I need to tap.
I have the switch with an LED since a timed switch was to hard to come by I just went with an on off.
BUT any help to which wire I need to tape into. guess the mirriors only draw 1.4 a so I can't see it being to hard of drew on any wire. Power window tap maybe??

either way I think it will help powerstrokin.

i went from non-power non-telescopic tow mirrors to the new style w/ heat and signal. I ran all the wires for the power mirror. That was a bit of a pain. I got the original wiring instructions from eurekaboy.com He made a pretty good write up. I posted a complete break down in another thread on how to do it step by step.

they are easy to install, I got a set off ebay for my 99, got the pigtaill that plugs into the mirror from the dealer. for the signal an heat wires i got a 4 conductor cable an ran it to the door (easyer to run one cable then lots of individual ones) the park lights tap into the brown wire on the back of the headlight switch, the harness under the steering colom comming from your turn stalk is where you can find your signal wires. for heat, i got the factory switch an pigtail...i had to modify the swith to stay closed when pressed an it activates a relay. going to be adding a timer modual that was from an old witring harness for my mustang, that way you just hit the switch an its activated for like 5-10 min. think it will work, spent lots of time going over wiring diagrams...will see when i hook it up.

I put in a separate switch I took out of an old power supply and installed it above the power mirror switch. That way, I turn the heat on and off as I please.
