its hard to get an attachment point on the fron end of these trucks with stock bumpers. i have seen several folks get a newer superduty truck hook mounted on OBS frame horn with minor trimming to the bumper and some drilling! it looks slick and works well! you could also get a front receiver hitch mount and that would be a great place to hook to. OR get a set of ranch hands and weld on some D-rings
BTW... just so you know i HATE, with a passion, tow hooks! i have straightened out several and broken twice as many! i, howver, have never broken a D-ring! i bent one once, but it held! i strongly recommend D-rings or shackles if you have the choice, they are safer
I made a 2" hitch for the front that goes directly under the bumper. It bolts to the frame on each side 3 bolts per side then dropps down to get under the bumper. Ive done 2 trucks this way and it seems to work the best. Not to expensive, we jsut picked up some used good hitches at a garage sale and modified them to go between the frame
I will definatly second the preference to d rings or shackles over Hooks. I think hooks are just for pretty. If you want to sho nuff ****** on something you need rings or shackles.
