Need a Header

OK I've been pullin off a massive search for a header. I have a 98 2.5Lranger with a 5speed. I do have a cold air intake, removed the cat, and have a cherry bomb glass pack. I have a turbo but have yet to put it on in fear it will tear up my engine without having a better exhaust system to get what im puttin in it out. I found a company out in california that would custom build me one but it will cost me upwards of 500 bucks to get it. Other than that i can't find one. Does anyone know anywhere where i can get one for under 350 bucks? I'm on a limited budget and am really trying to get the maximum performance out of my truck.

The 2.5l uses the same head, 2.3l's had 8plugs as far back as '89. I will warn you though, even if you're careful, you'll drastically shorten the life of your engine if you use the stock pistons with boost. You'll want to get forged pistons, though the rest of the internals should be ok within reason.

Also replace the connecting rods for turbo applications. The 2.5 comes stock with powdered metal connecing rods which will not be strong enough for the higher combustion pressures. jd

The 2.5L also comes stock with a pretty decent factory tube header. Unless you have a pretty built engine, you don't need a custom header. Any gains will be small.

He is planning on installing a turbocharger, and it will not attach to the factory exhaust manifold (it is not really a header but a tube manifold). jd

Racer Walsh use to sell turbo headers for the 2.3 and 2.5 lima engines, most likely still does.

I didn't think he was planning to install turbo yet?

The stock 2.3L turbo manifold doesn't impeed flow that much on a relatively mild turbo engine. If you're gonna go big, by all means get yourself a custom header. But you're gonna have to drop the cash. The terms "Header" and "Cheap" don't usually go together, especially when you add "Turbo" to the mix.
