2006 STX Questions
A friend of mine just purchased a 2006 STX regular cab with 8000 miles on the odometer. It has the 3.0 Vulcan in it. Can anything be done to massage a little more power out of the engine? I was thinking intake, exhaust and a performance chip/programmer but haven't heard much about any significant gains from the 3.0.

You're not going to gain a ton of power...intake, exhaust, and chip will net you probably 15-20 horsepower for $800ish ($300-chip, $250-intake, $250-exhaust), and that's going conservative depending on exhaust pricing.

The 2 best mods you can do to your 3.0 is, a bama engine programer and an under drive pulley, they work and give you results you can feel, A catback will improve the sound and make it seem faster in your head and thats what counts, that it seems faster to you ha ha. you can find the udp and bama along with alot of other performance parts for your 3.0 at www.jusnesmodified.com, he's a sponser here and has decent prices, he's also listed to the left in the sponser colum.
