Hey TJC, is there any difference in performance from when you had the whole Banks airbox in place? I have an extra one I could modify if it worth it, Thanks!
well, it's hard to say if there is any difference, cause i did the modifications while doing a trans swap. when it had the full airbox, it had the 5 speed. now with the cone filter, it has a C/6.
but i did notice that i get more boost when it is cold out, and once i get heat built up in the engine it seems to run better cause i don't have 50 lbs of metal heating the incoming air. with the air filter at the a/c compressor, the air charge is still cooler than if it went through the box, and you get 3 inches of air intake, unlike the stock 1X4 air intake over the rad support.
and with the ram air setup from under the front bumper into the box under the battery, it is even better and cooler air intake.
i have made 3 different under bumper intakes so far. one of these days, i will make one i like.
