Does anyone know what the difference is between an 04 coil pack and an 05 coil pack?
I was looking over the two tonight and they have slightly different part numbers. The 2004 is part number 3L3U-12A366-BB (4CO962) while the 2005 part number is 3L3E-12A366-CA (5BO564).
I was wondering of they will mess with my computer (it's an 2004) if I leave the 2005 coil packs on the engine rather than swapping them out for the 2004 units.
Nope, both are 3 valve engines. There is some confusion between the new and heritage models. I have the 04 new body style which has the 3 valve engine.
Probably just a superseded number, kind of odd after only 1 year but that is probably the case. I am going to run both of them on the site I use for parts and see if they are the same price.
Couldn't get either number to work so I searched for coils and they list '04 and '05 as taking the same, I assume this is for a 5.4L came to about $27ea. from the site I use.
I can't see why anything would have changed physically between them in 1 year.
FWIW, I am pretty sure the 4.6L didn't get 3V until '05 MY.
