E4od

I have a 90 with an E4OD.Does that trans have any control on the throtle.I take off the truck runs fine, seems to shift, but then it will not realy respond to my foot on the pedal.I will pull the truck over, shut it down and restart.Once again everything repeats. The injection pump seems to work well at low and hi rpms when the truck is in park.I have a 86 with a manual since it was new but I dont know where to start with the E4OD.

Actually the trans gets it's info from the throttle..... sounds like the TPS/FIPL is not working..... Are you getting any codes set. Does your speedo and tach work flawlessly.

Unplug and reinstall the electrical connector on the FIPL, drvrs side of the IP, vertical 3 wire connector. I will PM you test/reset info...........

I have an acceleration problem-If I run the engine up to 2000rpms after about 20 seconds or so it will slowly back down to a rough idle and almost stall. This rpm change happens without the throtle moving. The truck will idle fine and responds well to throtle movement when first started but after 1/4 mile it acts as if the throtle no longer works.
