I have a small oil leak dripping out from between the engine and trans. It's just a couple of drops but enough that I won't park it on the driveway anymore. I saw a post a while back that said it was common. Where's it coming from and how do I fix it? Thanks,
Could come from a few places. Most common are the turbo pedistal o-rings, or the HPOP o-rings. Climb on top of your engine and start looking for the source. If oil is puddled in the valley, more than likely it's coming from the HPOP. If the valley looks mosly clear, then look all over that pedistal (and yes even from behind, it's a PITA) for the leak source.
Yep, what pocket said. I just had a pretty good leak from the HPOP oring for the plug was a little loose. I pulled it off and replaced the ring and put back together. Leak fixed. I used the loctite that the oring kit came with (from Stealer). Not that I am sure putting liquid loctite on the oilly hole was effective??
Well...
I had an oil leak dripping from the bellhousing onto the driveway...
Still under warranty so I took it in...It was the Y pipe boots....Dealer replaced them and no more leak..The intake boots are a known source of oil leaks...
Might be a place to look.
