Well here is our pan specifically for the 4X4,finally. We also have the main bolt to support the oil pump pick-up. I will post the prices and more details soon.
Should the rear of the sump be moved forward another 2" to clear exhaust cross over &/or converter bolt installation? If so should the front of the sump be moved forward for extra capacity?
What i'd do is i wouldn't go any further back or deeper in the rear sump than what comes stock on the 4w trucks. What i would do (i'm in the process of fixing up a canton oil pan for my truck) is kick out the rear sump to the sides for extra capacity, then on the front if i remember right there is roughly 7.5" that can be used for the oil pan before hitting/rubbing the crossmember (on an 80 3/4ton) becomes and issue, but i'm not sure how far forward/backward it is before the crossmembe is cleared.
Since this is for a 4wd i would build it with baffles no question asked, as they are simple to do, espically if they are the same, i would use at least 2, one in the shallow part and one in the sump just foward of the pickup.
I could be wrong but I don't see the hole for the dipstick. Are you going to include that in the pan. One other Q if you do are you going to include a dipstick & tube with the pan.
Another thing I have a 79 F150 and I know I don't 7.5 inches of clearance before the cross member, maybe 4 or 5.
What's the capacity going to be on this pan? Stock or extra?
Thank you for the reply I would rather ask about the dip stick and know than order it and wonder until it got here.
As for the header clearance I have headers with a stock oil pan and they aren't anywhere near the oil pan on either side, with a good 6 -7 inches of clearance I would guess. I have a 400 in mine. I do know that they are well below the bottom hump of the oil pan, about 4-5 inches.
One other question... what abut the oil pump pick up since it will be extra capacity, will you offer than either with or as an extra to the pan?
The pick-up similar to most aftermarket pans is an extra cost, but usually they are made for that depth of pan. In the racing field, pans get damaged and then they only need the pan.
Probably not. But headers, I believe are different between 70's and 80's? (I say this only because it seems difficult to locate headers for my 83 F250 w/400)
Yes considering that also. On the flip side, we loose oil capacity then.

Maby you could offer both ? I have a Milidon 4x4 pan that sits on the shelve because of no torque converter nut clearance. I thought about cutting the rear plate around the starter but decided against it, I didn't want to open up another can of worms there, so I Put the factory one back on. It's just too much trouble to drop the pan when you need to get them apart.
