I got a low powered 8" sony sub from my stereo in my house, and im hooking it up in my truck.Since i dont have the money saved up yet for an amp, I was wondering if i could bridge the 2 rear channels of my stereo to 1 channel then to the sub.
I know that it not going to be loud, but until i get the money for my 10" kicker L5 i just want a little bass.
My truck is a 1998 F-150 reg cab
it wont have bass, it will be just like another speaker. i wouldnt recommend doing this because its going to sounds like trash. i would recommend just riding it out till you get your amp and sub
Been there...done that.... (old high school days, don't ask) Like fordboy_52 said, not worth it. Though depending upon your head unit, you MIGHT get a little bit of thump, not enough to shake your own review mirror, you could still out perform that with upgraded speakers. Plus it'll act like a normal speaker, so you'll get treble out of it. So if it even does manage to move, you'll hear a lot of distorted treble because of it.
My advice to people when I used to install. Just save up and go all out for what you really want, and don't skimp on anything. Better to do it right the first time than try to cut corners and end up replacing stuff over and over just to save a couple of bucks.
