Sorry if we hijacked the thread. We did start with diagnosing the 1249 code and I think it is still applicable, now that the solution has brought in more discussion. Anyway, if my 1249 does not disappear after I install a new turbo system, I will come back. I would like to say that ball bearing turbos last for about 100,000 miles however. They do offer great performance. With the upgraded 360 thrust bearing, non-bbs are are good for several hundred and 40lbs.. I am sticking with 30 however.
OK, hopefully the actual driving symptoms will reside and the drivability and passing will improve. I will let everyone know. Hopefully the turbo will be installed on Wed. or Thurs. of this week. The only other thing I am having done at this time is possibly requesting they take out the cold weather valve or butterfly in the exhaust pipe just outside the turbo?
I am a Disabled Veteran and cannot do these types of things any longer myself. I grew up building cars with my dad, but just am not able to now. I enjoy the technology and hope I am a least able to make the best decisions for my rides/applications?
I'm in Page, AZ on the Utah border at Lake Powell. No worries this time, but I will sure keep this in mind for the future. Anyone out there from Southern Utah/Northern AZ?
