Tires

I am new to this body style though I do have a 74. I am wanting to tweak the torsion bar to raise the front end to be level with the rest of the truck. Once I have done that can I fit a 265/70/17 on it. I have a 2003 2wd King Ranch Screw. Thanks for your time and have a great day.

I think those tires will fit a 2wd without tweaking anything.

Sorry but a 2WD doesn't have torsion bars in the front. There's nothing to tweak to give you any extra height.

Well crap. What can I do to level out the truck. I would prefer to raise the front rather than lower the rear.

Okay so I have found the daystar spacers. What is the next tire size up from the 265/70/17 and will it fit on my truck with the spacer. 2WD

I work for a tire dealer, the 265/70-17 should fit without any mods.

I used the Fabtech 3.5" lift spindles in the front with 2" blocks in the rear. This allowed me to clear 285/75/R16 with minor trimming on the front. As far as using the spacers you should be able to clear 265/70-17.

I really like the extra height with the spindles and blocks....just a thought

My KR came with 275/60R17 tires as original equipment.

Yeah that is what mine came with also. I am wanting to level the truck out and personlly feel that the KR looks better lifted than lowered, but what are you guy's thoughts. I have looked into both and to lower the rear would be cheaper but not sure if it is the look I want to go with.

My vote would be go taller, not a fan of lowered trucks. Unless they are older street rods.

So how about 275/70/17's on my truck with the spacers on the front. The tires measure:

32.2 Tall
11 wide

275/60/17's are smaller than 265/70/17's.

I would guess with the spacers those 275/70's would work but the 2wd valence may need to be cut.

with 3.5" lift spindles on the front I had to trim to make room for 285/75/16's. These are 32.9 in tall and about 11 or so inches wide. Mine is 2wd also
