7.3 power improvement??
My father and i just switched the tired old 6.9 out of my dads truck with a 7.3 from an ambulance. The engine has a lot more bottom end torque but now i am wondering how hard it is to get a little more power out of the engine. I heard that you can turn two little screws and increase the fuel that is delivered to the injectors. which screws are they? also does anybody know of a after market turbo kit or other ways of getting more power out of it. The truck is a 87 f-250 4x4 with the 5 speed overdrive manual transmission.(this alowed us to use the luk solid flywheel conversion) any help is much apreciated. (just so you know there are a bunch of differences in the way an ambulance and a truck bolt in. You have to change every thing over. believe me. We finaly got it all changed on the 4 try at getting the motor in.) (motor mounts, oil cooler, flywheel, clutch,and so on. It was a big pain in the neck.

A turbo is the biggest bang for the buck, but it is a lot of bucks for a new one.

You really should have a pyrometer installed before you turn the fuel up.
You can melt the pistons if you don't have a way of monitoring the exhaust temps.
