My passenger power window does not work. I replaced the switch but still doesn't work.
Any way to tell if it is the regulator or motor? Or which one usually goes out and I will replace that first. I her a mild click or sound when I hit the power switch but that is it.
More often than not it is the motor. The good news is that the motor uses a plastic gear that is made to break if the motor fails to shut off with window going up or down. Pull the motor out, you should be able to unbolt it. If not, you may need to remove some rivets. Take it down to O'reilly's and get a replacement plastic gear. The motor should be fine. You can even check it once you remove the broken pieces of plastic.
Did you fix it yet?
Sounds like the motor - a broken regulator will still try to move the window - should come out easy, but I cant remember if the 2 parts come as one unit. A good glass shop will probably fix it cheaper than a dealership if you dont do it yourself.

Not yet. Will try this weekend or next.
Thanks to both of you for the help.
Finally did this the other day. Was able to find the correct motor at NAPA. First one they gave me was the wrong part with a different connector. It was the one they had listed so she called the tech who gave her the correct part. Easy install and it works now, although it seems a little sluggish compared to the other one. I am curious as how these are rebuilt. I saw kits with plastic gears on ebay. I did have much luck taking the old one apart before I traded it for the new one.
