Sending Unit

I bought a temp guage and would like to use it to monitor my tranny temp. I have a 94' with 351/e4od. Does anyone know where the best place to mount the sending unit would be? And by what means? Thanks

The factory specifies the maximum fluid temp in the pan, so I'd stick it thru the pan wall, or feed the wires thru the gasket & silicone 'em shut.
