What would be wrong with the $175 pair of mirrors
on eBay? Other than the fact they are not Factory.
Anyone have any experience with after markets?
Thanks
I ve got a buddy that put a pair on in NOV and the only difference I can see is my mirrors will swing BOTH ways back and forward, his will only fold back, Oh and the plug did not fit for his so he hard wired them. Even though my truck is a 99.5 I have the newer style mirrors due to shall we say a small squirmish of me and another Super Duty meeting mirror to mirror on a narrow road at 40MPH, Yes, we both had our mirrors extended. Too much trucks for too little road.
yeah, I put big tow mirrors on my Excursion (from the little ones). I got mine from partstrain.com
The quality is good, but I did have to splice the wires. A little suggestion is to cut the wire connector from the old mirrors, so you can splice the new mirrors between the connector and the mirror. That way, you can still un-plug it and keep the truck's wiring intact.
Mine are heated, double-pivot, power-move, but not signal.
Some people have had problems with the glass shaking so much that you can't really see, but I haven't had this issue.
does anyone know the difference between the superduty mirrors and the f150 mirrors, i was lookin at some extendable mirrors for my f150 and they want 300 buck for some at jcwhitney.com. is there anyway i can make some off a superduty work? thanks
I've read on other forums that the foreign mirrors shake too much and people wished they'd gotten the real thing. I got my factory mirrors on ebay. It takes a little patience, but they can be had for a good price.
