Side impact door beams
I am looking at 04 and 05 Explorers. I see some are advertised with "Side Impact Door Beams". Was that an additional option on 04 and 05's or is it standard on both years.

My '02 has them (I've had the interior door panel off)... IMHO it's a standard item on most modern vehicles.

my 94 explorer has them and also my 94 f150.

many vehicles have them.

Not an option like side impact air bags. All for products from the smallest to the largest have side impact door beams since 95'
