VIN, HP rating question

VIN, HP rating question
With a little bit of non-productive spare time at my disposal, I entered in the VIN of my 250 to see what info it brought up.
Why would the info that the VIN seach brought up, list that the FI 460 have a HP rating between 265 - 290?
Everywhere I have read about this engine indicates a rating between 225 - 245.
