I finished rebuilding my engine and have about 260 miles on it and before I rebuilt it I would use a diagnostic reader in school for a check up a couple times a month. After rebuilding my motor I removed all traces of emissons parts ecept the sensors. I used the diagnostic reader and I got EVP codes and the one that bothers me is it said the system was running lean. What do I do with the sensors and vacume lines? How do I fix the running lean problem? Timing is at 10 btdc and I put the copper core plugs in.

I did a full port and polish on the lower intake and opened up the ends on the upper and opened up the head a little. My dad thinks thats the problem but I thought the computer was supposed to compensate for that.
So you removed all the " emissions parts"? EGR? Evaporator canister? Air injection? On these early EFI motors the computer is programmed around these parts, so removing them will throw off the calibration. To fix this you need a custom chip or you need to fool the computer into thinking the emissions devices are still present.
If you mean the fuel evaporator canister, that is still there. Other than that everything is gone eccept the the vaccum lines and sensors. How might I fool the computer?
check out fordfuelinjection.com for the egr resistor. the thing is a lean condition is going to be sensed from the o2 sensor. the emissions will have no affect on that so it sounds like you just need to replace that part and move on. what is your fuel pressure at the rail as well.
