That's the thing, if I get rid of the truck I won't be getting another one, and I will have wasted money when I could have leased. I'll get a toyota or honda or some other small cheap car. So I don't want to get rid of it, I just want it to work. Are there non-OEM warranties (not the Ford ESP program) that are just as good? It seems rather expensive to me for a vehicle that shouldn't be breaking down at all IMHO.
If I were you, I'd either get the extended warranty or sell the vehicle. I'm on my second nothing but trouble Ford out of 3 Fords that I've ever owned.
It's in the shop for $2400 of head gasket work from a Ford flaw with an intake gasket. It's a 2000 F150 5.4 with 84K so it'll all be out of pocket.
Also depending on what engine you have is how comfortable I'd be out of warranty. If you have the 6.0, I wouldn't drive without a warranty. It only takes one turbo to pay for the cost of the warranty.
Can you only get extended warranty before you hit 36k or is there a mileage range that it can be done in. (Side note) I got the bolts and spacers. Thanks again.
